1. Secret Sunrise Plettenberg Bay

Thursday, 29 December

Location: Old Nick Village, Plettenburg Bay


This is the first time Secret Sunrise is taking place in Plett. This beachy, island tribe themed sunrise will be a one hour groove session and farewell to 2016. There is also a Secret Sunrise taking place in St Francis Bay on Friday.

2. Garden Route Duo Challenge

Friday, 30 December

Location: Saasveld,George, Western Cape

The Garden Route Duo Challenge start with a Trail Run followed by a Mountain bike ride. It take place at the  Saasveld campus, which is part of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and is just outside George.

3. Delvera New Year’s Eve Sunset Hike

Saturday, 31 December

Location: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Delvera Farm, Western Cape


This hike is a 9.75km route along the vineyards and gives you the unique experience of hiking through the Greater Simonsberg

Conservancy and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. It can take up to one and a half hours to reach the top. Once at the top you can watch the sunset with a glass of bubbly.

4. Dangerpoint Half Marathon

Saturday, 31 December

Location: Gansbaai, Western Cape

If you want to run into the new year, this is the last chance to tick off a 2016 half marathon. There’s also a 10km and 5km fun run on offer.

5. New Year Run, Walk

Monday, 2 January 2017

Location: Pretoria National Botanical Garden, Gauteng


Kickstart your year with a run or walk around the Pretoria Botanical gardens. There’s a 5km and 11km route available.
