Born 2 Run Night Trail
Wednesday, 16 March
Location: St.Stithians College, Randburg, Central Gauteng
Born 2 Run Athletics Club is hosting their first trail event this Wednesday. The trail starts from Higher Ground in St Stithians College and follows a technical trail route. There is a 5km and 10km option (the 10km is a double lap of the 5km route) and both routes will be timed using chips.
We joined some Born 2 Run members on Sunday for a trial run and you can look forward to a challenging, fun and proper trail run – a must do!
Drakensburg Northern Trail
Saturday, 19 March
Location: Oliviershoek, KZN/Freestate Border
The Drakensburg Northern Trail takes place in the northern section of the spectacular Drakensberg Mountain Range. The race is the brainchild of trail runner Tracy Zunkel and Andrew Booth.
The main event is a 42km Skymarathon® which is the first race of the South African Skyrunner Series. There are also 3 shorter distances for beginner runners.
Cape Argus Sports Show 2016
Saturday, 19 March – Monday, 21 March
Location: Sandringham Farm, Stellenbosch, Western Cape
The Cape Argus Sports Show is South Africa’s first ever multi-sports festival. The inaugural 3-day event will feature family entertainment, clinics for individuals looking to improve on their game, appearances by sports heroes and sports-related exhibits.
This is an event geared towards fanatical and casual sportsmen and their entire families.
Dolphin Mile Surf Swim
Sunday, 20 March
Location: Marine Surf Life Saving Club, KZN
South African Masters Swimming’s 32nd National Championships are being held in Durban this year and their Annual Open Water Event is being opened to the public as well as Masters swimmers. There is a 1km and 3km option and swim caps come with your entry
Springbok Plant Hire Humans Rights Day Cycle Challenge
Monday, 21 March
Location: Midvaal Raceway,Jim Fouche Road, Meyerton, Gauteng
Held on Humans Right Day, this road cycle has 3 distances – 70km, 40km and 10km.
