  1. Berg And Bush Descent

Friday, 7 October – Sunday, 9 October

Location: The Border Post, KZN


The Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush takes mountain bikers from the top of the Drakensberg escarpment near Harrismith and drops down into Kwazulu-Natal negotiating world-famous single track into the bushveld below into Winterton.

Riders camp along the shady banks of the Tugela river at the famous Em’Seni Camp ready to tackle the next two days of spectacular bushveld riding. With farm-style hospitality and an area rich in history, not to mention incredible riding, you’re sure to have a proper adventure on your bike!

  1. Lormar Endurance Trail Run

Friday, 7 October – Saturday, 8 October

Location: Fairview Farm, Middelburg, Eastern Cape


The Lormar Endurance Trail Run kicks off with a run into the Karoo sunset to loosen those legs and weekend spirits.  Day two’s routes consists of mountain top running and down the Bushman’s Cave gorge, for the brave Lormar Main runners.

The Lormar Mini and Mini Me runners is not any less exciting as it takes runners across dam walls and “sheep trails” all along Fairview’s borders.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and one way to show your support is with a Hike. Bring along water, your camera, sunscreen and a snack and come dressed in pink or white.

  1. Spar Women’s Race, Johannesburg

Sunday, 9 October

Location: Wanderer’s Club, Johannesburg


The Spar Women’s race is run by women of every age, colour and athletic ability. Men can run, but do so in drag and start at the back of the pack. They’re also not allowed to finish within the top 100 in the 5km or 10km.
