2. Contribute to early childhood development with Chaeli

What: The Chaeli Campaign is hosting a Mandela Day event to help with early childhood development. For R150 you can either sponsor a stationery kit; purchase stationery items which will be on display; or volunteer 67 minutes by making two HOPE bracelets which include a funky purple streak in your hair for R67.

3. Make and Donate a Sleeping Bag
Where: Kingsmead College, Johannesburg

What: Kingsmead College, in collaboration with Community Hours, is hosting a Make-and-Donate-a-Sleeping-Bag event on Mandela Day. Sleeping bags will be made from newspaper and recycled plastic and every sleeping bag will be put into a sturdy cover made from billboard material and sewn by Fleur Fashion House. These sleeping bags will be distributed to the homeless. R67 covers your materials.

4. Give kids Books with Learning in Reach

What: Learning In Reach is putting a book into the hands of every child attending each of the four primary schools and every child at an ECD centre in Lavender Hill. To get involved you can either give R67 towards a book or spend 67 minutes selecting a book and wrapping it for a child. This is a corporate event.
