Savoury waffles may be better than sweet, or better to top. These chickpea waffles are made with chickpea flour making them naturally gluten free with no added sugars. They’re crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and best topped with eggs, avo, tomato and a good splash of hot sauce.

Savoury Chickpea Waffles
Made with chickpea flour these savoury chickpea waffles are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Top with eggs and avo for a savoury breakfast. They are gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, nut free and have no added sugar.

Ingredients
Chickpea Waffles
- 1 C chickpea flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 C water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Toppings
- fried eggs
- avocado
- baby tomatoes
- fresh chives
You will Also Need
- waffle iron
- non-stick spray
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add in the liquid ingredients and whisk till combined and smooth.
- Preheat your waffle iron and spray with a non-stick spray. Scoop ½ cup of batter into the hot iron and cook according to the waffle iron instructions. You’ll get 3 waffles.
- Top waffles with fried eggs, tomatoes, avo and some fresh chives.
