Two new food products happened to land on my desk almost simultaneously. Soaring Free Superfood’s new Superfood Protein Shakes which are a blend of superfoods and protein suitable for the whole family. They come in four different flavours; and the flavour used in the superfood ice coffee below is the Nourish Lucuma Dream that has Chia Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Mesquite, Brown Rice Protein, Lucuma, Maca, Monk Fruit Extract. It’s pretty much a vanilla flavour which is perfect to add into drinks where you don’t want that flavour, just the superfoods.
Product two was OKJA’s latest oat milk drink – Liter o’ Latte which is a coffee flavoured oat milk drink. They have taken their original oat milk and added a blend of medium-roasted certified organic Arabica beans from Peru to create a delicious pourable coffee beverage.
I had the idea to combine the two into a potent ice-cold caffeinated beverage. To take it up a notch, I froze some OKJA Liter o’ Latte into ice cubes so that my iced coffee would be icy without being watered down. The third ingredient was a medjool date – for some sweetness, but if you don’t have a sweet tooth you can leave it out.
It’s your homemade summer ice-coffee beverage with a little boost, because 2020 needs it.
