Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve Hike

Date: Sunday, 4 June

Location: Kibler Park, Johannesburg

You can choose between 3 groups – a social 5km hike or faster and tougher 11km and 13km routes. Kids under 13 can participate for free.

Personal Training Workshop with Professor Ross Tucker

Date: Wednesday, 7 June

Location: Eco Park Learning Centre, Centurion

These personal training workshops are two one hour back to back workshops. The first covers tools to monitor exercise and the second tools to monitor recovery. If you’re in central Gauteng you can go to the workshop on Thursday, 8 June. Or if you’re in Cape Town, there’s one on Friday, 9 June.

Woodlands 6th annual Wine Fair

Location: Woodlands Mall, Pretoria

The 6th annual Wine Fair is hosted by Woodlands Mall together with Food Lover’s Market and Pentravel. Wine lovers will be able to taste over 200 different wines. There will also be food stalls and whiskey tastings.

Dad’s Day Out driven with JEEP

Location: Hobby Park, Krugersdorp

Enjoy a picnic in the park and then some 4×4 driving in a Jeep. You do not need to own a Jeep to attend. You can either book a slot for the 4 x4 trail and enjoy it with a professionally driven vehicle. Alternatively, if you have a JEEP you can join the convoy!

Gauteng Winter Trail Series 3 of 4

Date: Sunday, 25 June

Location: Segwati Game Ranch

Run through the ‘Cradle of Humankind’ world heritage site at Race 3, which starts off in an open field, often occupied by the local zebras and wildebeest. The route is mostly jeep track but quite technical due to its rocky nature. Be sure to spot lots of game along the way! The series starts on the 11th and runs every Sunday for 4 weeks.

Olyfberg Summit Challenge

Date: Saturday, 3 June

Location: Olyfberg, Roberston, Cape Town

This year the Olyfberg Summit Challenge will be Bigger & Better than last year. Runners will be welcomed to the best single track there is to run in the Robertson Valley, with more than 85% of the 21km route consists of single track.

1 Day Drone Racing Course

Location: Constantia, Cape Town

DRA’s drone racing course brings the exciting new world of First Person View (FPV) drone racing to tweens and teens in an intensive 1-day workshop. This workshop includes theory and practical instruction, ending off with a variety of challenging micro-drone obstacle and speed races.

International Day of Yoga 2017 powered by Adidas & Joëlle Sleebos [FREE]

Location: Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town

An early celebration of the international day of Yoga on the 21st of June. Yoga is about union, and this event aims to bring all the different yoga communities in Cape Town and surrounding areas together to practice as one. There will be yoga classes, workshops, and a market.

Napier Patat Festival MTB Race

This annual festival incorporates the Napier Half-marathon, an MTB race, and a Trail run. The full weekend festivities include a busy market, local beer and wines, children’s crèche and activities, Harley Davidson motorcycle show, tractor and vintage car show, art shows, entertainment, great food and more.

Theuniskraal Trail Run

Location: Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Jonkershoek Road, Stellenbosch

Friday night starts with a night trail run (choose between 25km, 15km and 7.5km), followed by live entertainment and wine. If you don’t fancy night running you can opt to run the same distances the next day.

This is part of Spars Women Challenge and is a woman’s only race. There are a 10km and 5km on offer.

Location: uShaka Marine World, Durban

This 9km city obstacle course will have you running through Durban landmarks over 22 obstacles.

Durban Downwind

Date: Saturday, 24 June – Sunday, 25 June

Location: La Mercy/ Marine SLC

It’s the fourth year of the Durban Downwind which is part of the World Surfski Series calendar as a title race. The race consists of a 26km Downwind from Marine Surf Lifesaving Club to La Mercy or vice versa depending on conditions with a two-day window.

Dafco Urban Challenge Night Trail Run

Date: Friday, 30 June

Location: Hutchison Park

The start and finish of the race is on The Oval at Amanzimtoti Sports Centre.

Terrain includes forest along the river and the trails through Ilanda Wild are very scenic. Also, there are several challenging points and bridges, forest paths and inclines along the route.

FNB Platinum Trail Run

Date: Sunday, 4 June

Location: ATKV, Buffelspoort

There are two trail runs – a shorter 12km and longer 24km. They take place at a mountainous region that forms part of the Magaliesberg Mountain range west of the Buffelspoort Dam.

Fresh Trails

Location: Rooiberg, Limpopo

This trail event is located in the heart of the bushveld close to Bela Bela and only 2 hours from Pretoria. Runners will leave FRESH tracks on an unforgettable bushveld trail. Breath-taking views from the majestic Waterberg and lush gorges not to mention a wide variety of game along the way.
